Occupation License
A current occupation license is required to do business in the City of Kearney*. The standard occupation license fee is $30.00. Renewal notices are mailed to each business by December 1st for the following year. In addition, certain businesses may require a Missouri Sales Tax Identification Number or Clay County Health Department approval. For additional information, please contact City Hall at 816-628-4121.
*The following occupations are exempt from occupation licensing: minister of the gospel, duly accredited Christian Science practitioner, teacher, professor in a college, priest, lawyer, certified public accountant, dentist, chiropractor, optometrist, chiropodist, or physician or surgeon.
Clay County Health Department
